BACCALAUREATE GROUP
Are you likely to achieve over 5 A-A*’s at GCSE level this year? Have you already passed some GCSEs in year 10? Then this may be the group for you!
WHY SHOULD YOU DO THE BACCALAUREATE AWARD?
Gain up to 130 UCAS points towards your university application!! Top Universities require specific credentials including work experience, proven interest in the subject, extra qualifications or ability to study independently. The AQA Baccalaureate demonstrates that you have these in abundance!
With a dedicated Senior Tutor you will receive specific curriculum support to enable you to achieve the highest grades. They will also offer extra university visits and enrichment activities to enhance your university application. This is a fantastic opportunity especially when you are applying for popular degree courses. It may just give you the edge you need!
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO GET THE BACCALAUREATE AWARD?
Alongside your A level subjects, an Extended Project and AS Level General Studies, you will complete over 100 hours enrichment which can even include your paid employment. Once completed you will be awarded a pass, merit or distinction. Universities recognise these wider skills and your personal development at College.
WHAT ATTRIBUTES ARE REQUIRED TO BE AN BACCALAUREATE?
In addition to academic ability you will need to have a ‘Can Do’ attitude. The initiative and desire to engage in extra study and enrichment opportunities, such as Charity work, is a must. If you are the kind of student who enjoys the prospect of new challenges and experiences, this is the award for you.
