The College operates a Key Skills programme which offers students the opportunity to develop their ICT, numeracy and literacy skills to a level that suits their needs and their ambitions when they leave College. The enrichment programme also provides essential opportunities to develop study skills and to give students assistance in the transition from GCSE to higher level study.

Key Skills are important for you because

• They help you to focus on your learning and help you achieve better results.
• They help you develop the skills necessary for employment and/ or study in higher education
• They will build your confidence in dealing with problems and solving them, using ICT, numeracy and reasoning skills
• They will build your confidence in dealing with people, especially as your communication skills develop.
