Results 2006

Following on from last year’s excellent results, Bolton Sixth Form College has improved its success rate again with an A Level pass rate of 96%, an increase of 2% on last year, with twenty three subjects achieving a 100% success. The College also achieved excellent pass rates in its other advanced courses, with all six of the Vocational A Level programmes achieving a 100% pass rate.

The two campus college, based on Smithills Dean Road and Lever Edge Lane, also celebrated a 5% increase in the results of its first year students’ AS Level results.

A large number of students achieved outstanding individual results, the following were amongst a number of students who achieved a clean sweep of Grade As in all their A Level subjects; their former secondary school is shown in brackets.

College Principal Roy Whittle said; “I am delighted that the College’s results have significantly increased yet again for the third year running and am proud of all of our students’ successes and the hard work and commitment put in by both students and staff to confirm the College’s role as the main sixth form provider in the town.

Our high achievers, many of whom have been on our academic fast track programme, have left the College ready to take up places at the country’s top universities. The College prides itself on the opportunities it offers to young Boltonians and wishes those going onto university or entering employment the best of luck for the future.”
