Celebrating Diversity

The College recently produced an updated copy of its acclaimed Celebrating Diversity booklet, with a new theme of encouraging integration. As in other Colleges, for many students BSFC is their first experience of a truly multi-racial and multi-cultural environment and some students tend at first to segregate themselves on ethnic and religious lines.

The booklet is designed to provide background information about the religions and other beliefs represented at the College and additional information about cultural issues, including diet and dress, marriage and pronunciation of names. It also includes student views of the extent of integration at BSFC.

The booklet, which is distributed as part of the induction process for all new staff and students, forms a cornerstone of the College's strategy to promote equality and diversity.
