Our students are seen as individuals, with individual goals, aims and aptitudes.
Our aim is to provide learning experiences for you to meet your needs and goals. In class, tasks and activities will be carefully structured to take account of your preferred learning style, your career goals and ability. If you need additional help to absorb a topic, your teacher will support this. If you want to study a topic in greater detail, your teacher will give you extra information, materials and ideas. You can attend extra half hour classes in your subject. If you need help with skills in English and Maths, or with your main course of study, you can attend Learning Support lessons which will give you any help you need.
Learning support staff can help if you are dyslexic or have a learning, sensory or physical disability. They can provide support sessions, advice, arrange assessments, loan specialised equipment (such as laptop computers) and organise special arrangements required for taking exams. Learning Support works closely with staff throughout the college to ensure that all students reach their full potential and have equal opportunities to benefit from all that college has to offer.
Disability
The College welcomes students with disabilities and learning difficulties and will make reasonable adjustments to ensure that all students have access to all aspects of College life.
Staff and students are encouraged to have positive, informed and unprejudiced attitudes towards people with disabilities and learning difficulties.
However, the College recognises the student’s right to request confidentiality concerning the existence and nature of his/her disability.
