A Level Biology Students Visit Edge Hill UniversityDate Posted: 05/12/2018 | Posted In: A Level, College News, Student News
Students explored the taxonomy of arthropods and their importance to ecosystems, biodiversity and conservation; using microscopy to morphological differences in arthropod groups. They also learned how plants have evolved a gas exchange and transport system that enables them to become the longest lived organisms on the planet. Finally, they explored how Cancer can have an environmental or genetics cause, exploring the mutations in a particular gene that might indicate an increased chance of cancer susceptibility.
These areas are linked to the current A Level Biology specification and will help students broaden their understanding of these topics. Students ended the day on a tour of their fantastic campus.
