The College is pleased to announce outstanding Advanced Level Results for 2018 with a 99% pass rate and even better results than in previous years. 67% of students have achieved higher grades and 96% of BTEC National Diploma students have achieved Distinction* – Distinction. The College continues to build year-on-year on its impressive outcomes for students in its care.
“These results place the College significantly above the national rates for post – 16 school and college providers and again ranks Bolton Sixth Form College alongside the best in the country. Students have worked extremely hard over the last two years and these results are a reflection of their dedication, commitment and motivation to succeed.” Principal, Stuart Merrills.
The majority will now move forward to secure their places at universities across the country, with students progressing to study a broad range of subjects encompassing: sciences, medicine, law, business, music, performing arts and humanities. These results coupled with the College’s excellent careers, advice and guidance programmes, as well as strong links with industry and employers, have enabled students who chose not to progress to Higher Education to obtain excellent career opportunities with many choosing to take a higher level apprenticeship route.
“I would personally like to thank the staff at the College too”, said the Principal, “who work as a great team, with a huge amount of desire and commitment to see our students do well. We are an inclusive College who do not put artificial selection barriers in front of student ambition and I’m extremely proud of the level of dedication, care and attention they bring to work every day.”
We are extremely proud of all our students and wish them every success for the future.
