Over 300 pupils and parents from nine high schools attended the launch of the Raising Aspirations Youth Programme (RAY). RAY is designed for high achieving students who have recently progressed to year 9. The programme enables pupils to experience subjects not accessible in the school curriculum, and gain a flavour of sixth form life in order to raise their academic profile. Throughout the two-year programme, pupils will take part in a range of activities, seminars and visits which will broaden their horizons and teach new skills. During the evening, pupils attended their first strand session from a choice of; Art & Design, Computer Science, Health & Social Care, Humanities, English & Languages, Creative Industries, Sport and STEM. Parents also gained an insight into the structure and aims of the programme. RAY programme information.
