Olivia Maloney and Emma Stott visited us at B6 to give our first-year Children’s Play, Learning & Development (CPLD) students some invaluable advice on their studies at B6 and beyond.

Olivia and Emma both joined us from Thornleigh Salesian College in 2018 to study Triple Vocational CPLD and were taught by Danielle Davenport-Herd and Fiona Ainsworth. They shared their positive memories of their time at B6 with our current students and said their teachers were extremely kind and supportive and that the course helped them to gain in confidence massively.

B6 Alumni Olivia Maloney and Emma Stott speaking to our first-year CPLD students

They are both now studying Early Years education at Edge Hill University with Olivia studying Primary Early Years Education with QTS BA (Hons) and Emma studying Working and Teaching in the Early Years BA (Hons). Both Olivia and Emma said their lessons and work experience placements at B6 really inspired them to continue their studies in Early Years education and they both now plan to become Early Years teachers in the future.

Olivia and Emma gave our current first-year CPLD students an insight into their studies at Edge Hill and told them all about their courses and the social side of university life. They went into detail about the their teaching placements on their courses and the challenges and rewards that they bring and also spoke about the skills and amazing experiences that living away from home has given them.

Their overarching message to our students was to ‘work hard and embrace it all’.

Thank you so much to Olivia and Emma for visiting and sharing their experiences. Our students really benefit from hearing from people who have been in their shoes and finding out about their journeys after B6 .
