Rising star Lauren Patel and her big film debut – Everybody’s Talking About Jamie

Huge congratulations to previous B6 student Lauren Patel on her film debut! Lauren plays a key role as Pritti Pasha in the screen version of the stage musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. Lauren, now 20, studied Performing Arts, Music and Media Studies here at The Sixth Form Bolton after leaving Smithills School.

Last night Lauren spoke to Granada’s entertainment correspondent Caroline Whitmore about her debut acting role:

The film is based on a heart-warming true story about a teenager, Jamie Campbell and the obstacles he faces trying to be himself in a small northern community. The star-studded cast also includes Max Harwood, Sarah Lancashire, Richard E. Grant, Shobna Gulati, Ralph Ineson, Adeel Akhtar and Sharon Horgan.
