Law Students Raise The Bar!Date Posted: 06/11/2017 | Posted In: College News, Student News
We are very proud of our Law students who were runners up in the Manchester regional heat of the Bar National Mock Trial Competition on Saturday November 4th. Fighting off competition from nine other schools and colleges including Rochdale, Loreto and Aquinas, they were narrowly beaten by Wilmslow High School at Minshull St Crown Court. Judge Steiger QC praised our team for their excellent skills as lawyers, witnesses and court staff. The Bar Mock Trial Competition, which is now in its 26th year is a unique opportunity for students aged 15-18 from all over the UK to gain unparalleled insight into the justice system. The competition immerses students in all aspects of a criminal trial, as they take on the roles of barristers, witnesses, clerks, ushers and jury members. The event supplements traditional classroom learning by encouraging essential skills such as teamwork, logical reasoning and clear communication.
