Bolton Sixth Form College – 99% pass rate!
Students at Bolton Sixth Form College are celebrating yet another year of outstanding A Level and Vocational A Level results, outperforming the national results with a 99% pass rate. The College is delighted to announce that the number of students achieving the higher grade passes has increased this year; 59% of advanced level students achieved higher grades and 95% of BTEC National Diploma students achieved D*- D grades.
The newly appointed Principal of Bolton Sixth Form College, Stuart Merrills said: “We are very proud of the achievements of all our students and there are excellent results right across the board, for which students have worked extremely hard. This is the first year that students have sat the two-year linear exam and it is testament to the dedication and hard work of both students and staff that the results are so good”.
These results place the College 5% above the national rates for post -16 advanced level providers and many students have now achieved the grades they need to go on to secure places at top universities across the country. These successes rank the College alongside the highest performing schools and colleges in the country and continues to show that Bolton Sixth Form College provides outstanding education for 16-19-year-old pupils.
Strong academic and employment links
The College has an excellent careers programme with many pupils securing work placements with local employers and gaining invaluable advice and guidance. The skills they have gained have helped with interviews and applications and have led to them securing places at universities and with employers.
Applications for the forthcoming academic year show that Bolton Sixth Form College continues to be the preferred sixth form option for learners in Bolton.
