B6 WINNERS IN LONDON MET’S ‘YOUR PEOPLE, YOUR PLACES, YOUR THINGS’ PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

Ali Malik, Overall Winner and Best in ‘Your Places’ category
Our A Level Photography students were extremely successful in London Metropolitan University’s School of Art, Architecture and Design’s ‘Your People, Your Places, Your Things’ Photography Competition 2022. The competition, now in its second year, was open to students of photography and visual arts subjects aged 16 or over and in full-time further education at schools or FE colleges in the United Kingdom. Students were asked to submit their favourite Portrait, Landscape and Still Life photographs.
Ali Malik, a former Westhoughton High School student and now studying A Level History, Photography and Psychology at The Sixth Form was the overall winner of the competition and won the best image in the category ‘Your Places’. His beautiful image, shot on black and white film, is shown above.
Rebecca Horrocks, Runner Up One in ‘Your Places’ category
Rebecca Horrocks, a former Westhoughton High School student and now studying A Level Film Studies, Fine Art and Photography with the Honours Programme at The Sixth Form, was Runner Up One in the ‘Your Places’ category.
Lennie Sakala, Shortlisted in ‘Your People’ category
Lennie Sakala, a former St James’s High School student and now studying A Level Law and Photography and Vocational A Level Criminology at The Sixth Form was shortlisted for the ‘Your People’ category.
Emily Bannister, Shortlisted in ‘Your Places’ category
Emily Bannister, a former Lord’s Independent School student and now studying A Level Art, Craft & Design and Photography and Vocational A Level Criminology at The Sixth Form, was shortlisted for the ‘Your Places’ category.
Maisie Cunningham, Shortlisted in ‘Your Places’ category

Maisie Cunningham, a former St Gabriel’s Roman Catholic High School student and now studying A Level Art, Craft & Design, Photography and Spanish at The Sixth Form was shortlisted in the ‘Your Places’ category and highly commended in the ‘Your Things’ category.
Emily Harvey, Shortlisted in ‘Your Things’ category
Emily Harvey, a former Tottington High School student and now studying A Level Photography, Vocational A Level Law and Criminology was shortlisted in the ‘Your Things’ category.
Niamh Secombe, Shortlisted in ‘Your Things’ category
Niamh Secombe, Highly Commended in ‘Your Places’ category
Niamh Seacombe, a former St. Mary’s Catholic High School student and now studying A Level Art, Craft & Design, Photography and Spanish, was shortlisted in the ‘Your Things’ category and highly commended in the ‘Your Places’ category.

Lydia Blackburn, a former Canon Slade School student and now studying A Level Graphic Design, Media Studies and Photography at The Sixth Form, was highly commended in both the ‘Your Places’ and ‘Your Things’ categories.
Adam Spence, Highly Commended in ‘Your Things’ category
Finally, Adam Spence a former Bedford High School student now studying A Level Graphic Design and Photography and Vocational A Level Information Technology, was highly commended in the ‘Your Things’ category.
