"My advice is to take every opportunity you have whilst in full time education, every single event/role/position, even university open days (no matter the size) is invaluable when it comes to developing your CV and preparing yourself for the World of Work."

Dominic Patel

As well as securing his A Levels, Dominic successfully qualified in Grade 7 Practical Performance in Music (Tenor Horn). Whilst at university, he took advantage of their Recording Studios and Concert Hall facilities. Dominic developed a passion for Live Technology, especially lighting, which led to opportunities to work with BBC Radio Humberside, S-Club, Bongos Bingo & Hull City of Culture 2017. Dominic received a commendation from the Mayor of Hull for his role as part of the voluntary team working on the City of Culture project. For his final year project, Dominic created a piece of Ambisonics music about the challenges and pressures that younger people experience in education, entitled: Our Mental World. After Graduating in July 2019, Dominic continued to expand his network in self employment as a Freelance Theatre Technician, working on Performances and Events within Theatre, Music, Dance and Radio throughout Greater Manchester. This also included helping to record, produce and release singles on major platforms such as Spotify, Amazon Music and iTunes.
