A close, hard fought game at Hacken Lane saw Solihull Moors run out as victors in the last 16 of the ECFA Knockout Trophy.
BSFC Football Academy progressed into the last 16 of the ECFA Knockout Trophy for the first time, and did the college proud. From start to finish every player gave 100%, even in the early stages of the game as the team fought back from 1-0 down to be level at half-time thanks to a goal by Ayoub Alouchi. Both sides had numerous chances in the second half with both defences putting in fantastic performances.
The game finished 1-1 and moved into extra-time. The game continued to be end to end and Solihull Moors latched onto the loose ball after a fantastic save by Mackenzie Peachy to take a 2-1 lead with 5 minutes remaining. BSFC threw everything at their opposition but couldn’t find an equaliser. In the final minute of extra time Solihull broke up a BSFC attack and countered to seal the victory and a 3-1 win to progress into the quarter final.
All BSFC Football Academy players should be extremely proud of their efforts and represented college in a professional manner. The whole team gave 100% and were worthy of being named man of the match.
