Nick Fisher, Teacher of Public Services & Army Reserves 4th Battalion of the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment with Principal, Stuart Merrills.
The Sixth Form community marked the 103rd anniversary of the end of the First World War with a period of silence at 11am on Armistice Day. All students, teachers and corporate support staff paused to pay their respects to the Armed Forces community past and present.
Principal, Stuart Merrills, said “ It’s important that as we go about our daily lives, we take the time to remember all those in the Armed Forces and Emergency Services who have fallen in conflict serving their country. They gave their lives so that we can live ours. We also honour, respect and support the commitment of those who continue to serve.”
Donate any spare money you can to buy a poppy – poppies are available at the Remembrance Day/Poppy Appeal display on the ground floor at B6 for the rest of this week. Thank you to Student Council members Brandon and Karen for making materials to support the B6 Poppy Appeal display.
