Gulnaz Brennan participates in our Weekly Podcast: Women and Society with our first year studentsDate Posted: 11/06/2021 | Posted In: Enrichment, Student News
In the latest episode of our Podcast series, Women and Society, we were thrilled to be joined by Gulnaz Brennan. Gulnaz is from Bolton and does a great deal of work locally to support and celebrate the role that women play in our society. She is influential and successful in her own right and works tirelessly on projects to support women in our local society and beyond. Gulnaz is also the founder of ‘She Inspires Awards’ which celebrates the huge wealth of outstanding contributions women have made to Bolton and the North West region.
Our students felt privileged to be able to talk so openly and honestly with such an inspiring woman, they were able to understand why it’s so important to have the confidence to get involved, push themselves into uncomfortable situations and be kinder to themselves.
As the founder of the ‘She Inspires’ Awards, an event that recognises the achievements of women from all walks of life in our diverse and thriving community, showcasing extraordinary examples of courage, triumph, kindness, compassion, transformation, skill, and success. Gulnaz kindly shared a lot of her knowledge and experience with our young female students, informing them of her background, career history, and the interviews that she has conducted with over 100 women for her ‘100 Women 100 Stories’ book which has just been selected for ‘Big Ben Lying Down In Political Books’ artwork of Manchester International Festival – 150 books that have shaped British political life in the past, present and future.
