Futures Academy students had a fantastic trip to London where they participated in several activities related to Health and Social Care.
Highlights of the trip included a visit to the famous Hunterean Museum, which boasts an impressive history of medicine and surgery with unrivalled collections of human and non-human anatomical and pathological specimens, models and instruments dating from the early 17th century to the present day. Students were provided with Futures Academy work books, which enabled them to reflect on the impact of Science and how it will affect their chosen career pathway. Other visits included a trip to the Anaesthesia Museum, a sightseeing tour of London and a trip to the Houses of Parliament.
Following the trip, students were asked to deliver a presentation on what they had learned and how this will help with their University applications. This experience, along with their achievements over the past year, have enhanced their learning and provided a greater depth to their study areas.
