The Level 3 Extended Diploma (Double Award) in Business is a highly respected vocational qualification equivalent to two A Levels. It is designed for students who are interested in developing a broad understanding of how businesses operate and preparing for employment, apprenticeships, or higher education in business-related fields.
Double Vocational subjects can be studied alongside A Levels and/or Single Vocational courses. Students studying three A Levels or a mixed programme will be expected to have a minimum of two GCSEs at grade 5 and three at grade 4, including English Language and Mathematics. Students will be required to undertake additional reading to develop an awareness of businesses in the real world.
Explore a range of topics including: marketing, finance, management, recruitment, events, and business strategy. Learning is practical and career-focused, with opportunities to apply business concepts to real-world scenarios through projects, case studies, and employer-linked activities.

Assessment is a combination of coursework, controlled assessments, and externally assessed units, allowing students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in a variety of ways.
All Business students will have the opportunity to gain Microsoft qualifications in MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word. These practical skills are highly sought after and valued by employers.
Students will also have the opportunity to attend talks by external speakers from a range of different employers and organisations such as Bolton Council and The Bank of England. Visits to local universities will also be available to students to help them with planning their next steps.
Students will be required to undertake additional reading to develop an awareness in the real world. This can be achieved through following business news such as the BBC's Business Twitter page or business influencers on social media. This course is highly regarded by universities and provides the necessary entry requirments for a wide range of higher education courses.
Successful completion of the course can lead to university study, higher apprenticeships, or careers in areas such as marketing, accounting, human resources, management, finance, and entrepreneurship.
