The Sixth Form Bolton is pleased to announce that it has been recognised as an Apple Regional Training Centre for 2026–2027. Being selected as an Apple Regional Training Centre highlights our commitment to supporting teachers to develop the skills and confidence needed to effectively use Apple technology in the classroom. Apple Regional Training Centres form a community of educators and institutions that provide both online and face-to-face training, helping educators build skills in using Apple technology inside and outside the classroom. At The Sixth Form Bolton, technology underpins excellent teaching and learning and plays a central role in equipping students with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for their futures. Apple technology is widely embedded across the college, with students using iPads across most courses. This enables them to benefit from approaches that support personalised learning within an inclusive classroom, while also developing key skills such as collaboration, creativity, communication and problem-solving. This approach ensures that students are fully engaged in their learning while also developing the key skills and capabilities needed to succeed in further education, employment and an increasingly digital world. As part of this work, there is a strong focus on digital technologies and artificial intelligence, with students being taught how to use these tools ethically, responsibly and effectively. This ensures they are well prepared to navigate and contribute to a future shaped by rapid technological change. This recognition allows us to share, collaborate, and lead CPD events with the wider community, showcasing the fantastic work our staff and students produce daily. Through this, the College continues to contribute to the development of high-quality teaching, while strengthening collaboration and innovation across the region. This achievement reflects the college’s continued commitment to innovation and excellence in education, ensuring that every student benefits from high-quality, inclusive learning experiences that prepare them for their future pathways. Nicola Sodano, Assistant Principal – Teaching, Learning & Assessment at The Sixth Form Bolton, said: "At The Sixth Form Bolton, we are committed to using digital tools to support excellent teaching and learning across the college. By embedding technology within our curriculum, we are creating environments that enable personalised learning, support inclusive classrooms, and develop creativity and independence. This ensures that students gain the key skills, knowledge and confidence they need to succeed in their future pathways."
