Before you start college life at The Sixth Form Bolton, you will have to complete our application form using our APPLY NOW link. This process is managed by the Admissions Team. The Admissions Team will also oversee the following key stages:
your online application
your interview
your formal offer
offer holders will be invited to our New Student Day
your enrolment to college
When you apply, you will create an 'applicant portal' through which future communications will be managed. The e-mail address and password you use for this will be very important, please keep these safe.
Please ensure that you use a personal e-mail address to apply (and not a school email) for the application. We will contact you through this personal email throughout your application journey regarding September 2026 admission.
Applications received by the closing date will be offered an interview, during which we will discuss your chosen course/s and your application in general.
Applications received after the closing date of 30 January 2026, are not guaranteed an interview. Applications will remain on a waiting list and only invited for an interview should a place become available.
Your admission interview will take place on a one-to-one basis at The Sixth Form Bolton. Once we have received and processed your application, we will contact you with details on how to book your interview.
The interview is a supportive process designed to help you make informed decisions about your study pathway at our college. Don’t worry if you change your mind about your subject choices, you will have the opportunity to adjust them later, and final selections will be confirmed at enrolment in August (subject to entry requirements and course availability).
If you are unable to attend your scheduled interview, please inform us as soon as possible so that we can arrange an alternative date.
Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we kindly ask that you attend your original appointment wherever possible. This helps us ensure that we can offer you an interview and, if successful, a place at the college.

This event is a great opportunity to understand more about the journey your young person will be entering on and the many ways in which we will work in partnership with you to ensure their success. You will hear directly from our Senior Leadership staff about how we help students settle in, succeed with their studies, and prepare for their next steps after college. You will also have a chance to ask any questions.
