A second-year student from The Sixth Form Bolton has committed to walking over 100 miles this month to raise money for Breast Cancer Now.

Jayne, a former Dean Trust Rose Bridge student who now studies Triple Level 3 Vocational Business commented:

“I’ve fundraised in the past for cancer charities, and I think it’s a really important cause. I know some people who’ve had cancer, and I just really want to help. I’m walking at least three miles a day to reach my target and I’ve been getting off my bus to The Sixth Form a few stops earlier so I can get my steps in on my way to college. My friends and family and everyone at The Sixth Form have been really supportive. My Progress Coach, Bill Blackwood has encouraged me and asked me to share my project with everyone else.”

Jayne’s Progress Coach, Bill Blackwood, said:

“I am incredibly proud of Jayne, walking 100 miles throughout October to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. Her dedication, determination, and compassion are truly inspiring. Not only has she committed to such an impressive physical challenge, but she has also already surpassed her fundraising target, showing the strength of her motivation and the support she’s inspired in others. Jayne’s achievement reflects her kindness, perseverance, and community spirit, qualities that make her stand out and make me proud to support her on this journey.”

The Breast Cancer Now charity help to fund both research and support. Their world-class researchers are working in labs across the UK and Ireland to create a world where the words "breast cancer" aren't met with fear.

They also provide a helpline, health information, and support services for those with cancer and those supporting people who are affected.

Jayne’ fundraising target was £200 and she’s already exceeded that. To sponsor Jayne, please visit here
