The Sixth Form Bolton’s Sports and Public Services Department has experienced exceptional results this year, leaving a remarkable legacy of achievement and progression. Students achieved 100% D*-D grades, the best grades possible, across all vocational Sport Science and Public Services courses, as well as 75% of A Level PE students achieving top A*-B grades. This year, a number of outstanding students have successfully progressed to university to pursue their passion for sport and related careers, showcasing the dedication and talent nurtured at The Sixth Form Bolton. Ciaran Pritchard, formerly of Bolton St Catherine’s Academy, will be studying Sport and Youth Leadership at Manchester Metropolitan University. Ciaran achieved D*D*D in Vocational Sport & Exercise Science and shared, “I’ve loved being part of the Football team and advancing my knowledge in sport. It’s been a great two years.” Lucy Birch, from St James’s Church of England High School, is heading to the University of Salford to study Sports Rehabilitation after securing triple Distinction* grades (D*D*D*). Lucy said, “I’ve had the best two years at The Sixth Form, and I’ve made friends for life.” ![]() Lucy Birch Also from St James’s Church of England High School, Sonal Sakaria will attend UA92 to study Sports Science. Sonal achieved triple Distinction* (D*D*D*) in Vocational Sport & Exercise Science and reflected, “Thank you to my teachers who helped me achieve top results. I can’t wait to start university, as well as work on my brand ENERGIA which I started whilst at The Sixth Form.” Kieran Graham, who joined from St Mary’s Catholic High School, is progressing to Edgehill University to study Sports Therapy. Kieran’s impressive results include Distinction* in Public Services, Sport & Exercise Science, and Business vocational courses. He commented, “Thank you to the Safeguarding Team for being two of the most supportive and down-to-earth people I could have met, and for always being there to give a helping hand or valuable advice.” Finally, Elle Fielding, formerly of Westhoughton High School, will study Sport Rehabilitation at the University of Cumbria after earning D*D*D in Vocational Sport & Exercise Science. Elle expressed her gratitude, “A big thank you to my teachers for never giving up on me. I wouldn’t be progressing to university if it wasn’t for their care and support.” ![]() Elle Fielding Head of Sport and Public Services, Jill Errington, said: "I’m incredibly proud of the outstanding results from the Sport and Public Services department this year.
