Earlier this week, the B6 Women into Leadership group visited Liverpool for a cultural and educational trip.
The Women into Leadership Programme’s intention is to remove as many barriers as we can for our future female leaders, ensuring they are equipped with the tools to follow their chosen paths in life.
We recognise that the world beyond The Sixth Form can present significant challenges for women. Our programme is designed to empower young women, providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate and transform these environments.
As part of the programme, the group have attended many inspirational sessions delivered by inspiring speakers including Misbah Mogradia, the founder and CEO of Imaan Active; Victoria Sykes, a recruitment assessment, selection and development specialist and Vasiliki Delimpasi, a Senior Software Engineer at Booking.com.
In the final event of the year, the group visited Liverpool where they went to the University of Liverpool. They began the day with a presentation by the university’s UK Recruitment Manager, Kieran O’Sullivan and then took part in an insightful lecture with Lecturer in Orthoptics, Ashli Warburton.
The students then enjoyed a campus tour and lunch in Liverpool Guild of Students.
In the afternoon, the group walked down to Royal Albert Dock where they had free time to go shopping, visit the museums or explore the other attractions.
Annabel Jackson, Women into Leadership Coordinator was delighted with how the day went saying:
“A big thank you to the University of Liverpool for hosting us — the girls thoroughly enjoyed their time, and it was a great way to begin wrapping up what has been a fantastic year of programme. I am continuously proud of the Women into Leadership Programme students and we are very much looking forward to our final few events before summer”.
It was a fantastic day and one that we hope the students will remember for years to come.
