The Sixth Form Bolton students are celebrating exceptional results as they prepare to take their next steps towards careers in Medicine. 

After another fantastic Results Day at The Sixth Form Bolton, we are delighted to celebrate a number of exceptional students securing places to study Medicine at universities across the country. 

Among the successful students are Leah Osunkoya, Mohammed-Rayyan Riaz, Mujtaba Zada, Melanie Kneale Baird, Sana Dema and Jomi Ogunrewo – just some of the aspiring medical students The Sixth Form Bolton caught up with on the day. 

Their achievements reflect the hard work and dedication they have shown throughout their time at The Sixth Form, with many achieving outstanding grades across their Science and Mathematics A Levels alongside their Extended Project Qualifications. 

Leah Osunkoya, a former pupil of St Joseph's RC High School, achieved an impressive A* in Chemistry, A* in Mathematics and A in Biology. She will now progress to the University of East Anglia to study Medicine. Leah said: 

“I would like to thank my friends for being amazing emotional support, the Maths department for all their effort and support and for always going the extra mile for myself and my peers.” 

Mohammed-Rayyan Riaz, a former pupil of Kings Leadership Academy, achieved A*s in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, alongside an A* in his Level 3 Extended Project Qualification. He will take up his place at The University of Manchester to study Medicine. He said: 

“I would like to thank my Science teachers who have both helped me massively and the maths department as they are very organised. They have all supported me a lot in learning.” 

Mujtaba Zada, also a former pupil of Kings Leadership Academy, achieved A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, alongside a B in his Level 3 Extended Project Qualification. He is progressing to Lancaster University to study Medicine. Mujtaba said: 

“It’s been a great two years at The Sixth Form, I would like to thank all the staff for their on-going help and support.” 

Melanie Kneale Baird, a former pupil of Unsworth Academy, is heading to the University of Leeds to study Medicine after achieving A grades in Biology and Psychology, an A in Core Maths and an A* in her Level 3 Extended Project Qualification, alongside a B in Chemistry. Melanie said:

 “Thank you to my Honours Programme tutor for supporting me not just through academics but also difficult periods of time. She provided guidance and reassurance throughout Year 13 which helped massively. I would like to also thank all of the Student Services team for always being there for me and my mum for going above and beyond.” 

Sana Dema, a former pupil of Kings Leadership Academy, achieved an A* in Biology and A grades in Chemistry and Mathematics, as well as a B in her Level 3 Extended Project Qualification. She will join The University of Manchester to study Medicine. Sana said: 

“I would like to thank my form tutor and all my teachers for supporting me during challenging times and always pushing me to achieve my very best.” 

Jomi Ogunrewo, a former pupil of Bolton St Catherine's Academy, achieved A grades in Biology and Mathematics, an A in her Level 3 Extended Project Qualification and a B in Chemistry. She will progress to Lancaster University to study Medicine. Jomi said: 

“A huge thank you to my friends, all my subject teachers and the entire Maths department for their support. It’s been an amazing two years.” 

The achievements of these students highlight the breadth of talent and ambition among students at The Sixth Form Bolton, with their results opening the door to some of the most competitive university courses in the country.
