Emaan Hussain, Arzoo Khan and Mariam Yousaf
Every T Level student at The Sixth Form Bolton has achieved the highest possible grade – a Distinction – in the college’s first year of T Level results.
The Sixth Form Bolton is celebrating an exceptional set of results as its first cohort of T Level students receive their results, with 100% of students achieving a Distinction, the highest grade available.
The achievement is particularly significant given the demanding nature of T Levels, which are designed as a high-quality technical alternative to A Levels and are equivalent to three A Levels. Combining classroom learning with a substantial industry placement, T Levels give students the opportunity to develop the specialist knowledge, practical skills and experience needed for their chosen career.
The Sixth Form Bolton’s T Level Education and Early Years students have spent the past two years studying their qualification while gaining valuable experience in industry placements, preparing them for both employment and further study.
The results are a fantastic reflection of the hard work and commitment of both students and staff.
Caroline Oldroyd, Head of Vocational Social Science said:
“I am immensely proud of our wonderful T Level students and the incredible results they have achieved in our very first year of T Level results. Achieving a Distinction is a fantastic accomplishment and reflects the commitment, determination and hard work our students have shown throughout the course. I am equally proud of our dedicated staff, who have worked tirelessly to support and challenge our students and provide them with such an amazing range of experiences, and develop strong relationships with work placement providers, helping our students to build the confidence, skills and professionalism to thrive in the workplace. These results are a testament to what can be achieved when brilliant students and staff work together, and I could not be prouder of everyone involved.”
Students celebrate their achievements
Among those celebrating on results day was Mariam Yousaf, a former pupil of Smithills School, who achieved a Distinction in T Level Education and Early Years.
Mariam will progress into employment at a nursery before going on to study Adult Nursing at the University of Salford in 2027.
Reflecting on her time at The Sixth Form Bolton, Mariam said:
“I’ve had wonderful two years, especially the trips and experiences. A huge thank you to my amazing teachers for all their support.”
Arzoo Khan, a former pupil of Little Lever School, also achieved a Distinction in T Level Education and Early Years and is now progressing to the University of Greater Manchester to study Education.
Arzoo said:
“I’ve made some great friends on my T Level, we’ve had the best lessons and so many amazing experiences.”
Emaan Hussain, a former pupil of Sharples School, achieved a Distinction and will continue her education at Manchester Metropolitan University, studying Primary Education with QTS.
Emaan said:
“A big thank you to all my teachers and my friends on the T Level. It’s been a really hard two years but so worth it.”
The college is also celebrating the success of Jorja Hawkes, a former pupil of Tottington High School, who achieved a Distinction in T Level Education and Early Years. Jorja has secured full-time employment at the nursery where she completed her placement.
The success of The Sixth Form Bolton’s first T Level cohort demonstrates the fantastic opportunities available to students who choose the technical route – whether their ambition is to move directly into employment or, like Mariam, Arzoo and Emaan, use their T Level as a springboard to university.
With every student achieving a Distinction in the first year of T Level results, The Sixth Form Bolton’s inaugural T Level cohort has set an exceptional standard for future students.
