First-Year Student Secures Sought-After Cisco Work Experience Placement

Student Head shot

B6 Student, Ebony Hayhurst

One of our first-year students was delighted to find out she’s been accepted into Cisco’s prestigious work experience programme.

Ebony Hayhurst, a former Harper Green School student, learnt about Cisco’s programme after seeing a Linkedin post about the company and exploring their website. Ebony studies A Level Business Studies, Mathematics and Theatre Studies & Drama here at B6 as well as working towards her EPQ as part of the Honours Programme. She aspires to pursue a career in social media marketing or public relations, ideally in the gaming or esports industry.

Cisco’s Pathways work experience programmes aim to show young people the variety of roles in the technology industry. Participants are able to shadow Cisco employees to see first-hand what it’s like to work for Cisco and to inspire their choices for a career in IT. Ebony applied for this opportunity because she wanted to gain a wide variety of experiences across different companies in a range of industries, she hopes to be as prepared as possible for her future career path.

Ebony is a really active member of The Sixth Form community and is VALORANT Esports Team Captain and B6  Newspaper Chief Editor as well as being a keen member of our Women Into Leadership programme and Learner Voice.

Ebony said:

“I’m honoured that I stood out amongst hundreds of other applications and feel privileged to work with such a prestigious company.”

We’re really excited to find out more about Ebony’s time at Cisco and wish her the best of luck for her placement.

At The Sixth Form, we aim to ensure all students leave well-equipped for the next step on their career journey. Find out more about our Careers programme here
