Sixth Form Bolton Celebrates Honours Programme Students

Earlier this week, The Sixth Form Bolton proudly hosted a special event to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its Honours Programme students.

The Honours Programme is designed for ambitious learners aiming to secure places on highly competitive courses at leading universities, including Oxford, Cambridge and Russell Group institutions. Many participants also go on to compete for prestigious higher and degree apprenticeships.

Through the programme, students benefit from tailored guidance, including personal statement support, interview preparation and academic enrichment, helping them reach their full intellectual potential. In return, students commit additional time each week to engage with this intensive development pathway.

A key feature of the programme is its focus on super-curricular enrichment. Students take part in a wide range of activities and experiences, such as visits to top universities and cultural destinations, all designed to build confidence, develop skills and broaden knowledge. These opportunities significantly enhance students’ prospects of progressing to world-class institutions.

The celebration event recognised all students who successfully completed the programme, with special awards presented for exceptional commitment in areas such as Careers, Networking, Social Action and Work Experience.

Megan Nicholls, Honours Programme Coordinator, highlighted the importance of recognising their efforts:

“Our Honours students have gone above and beyond, demonstrating extraordinary dedication, ambition and a genuine commitment to excellence. Their outstanding contributions have not only enriched the programme but have also inspired those around them, creating a culture of curiosity, resilience, and high achievement. They are an exceptional group of young people whose commitment and impact extend far beyond the classroom.”
