The Sixth Form Serves up Free Breakfasts

The Sixth Form Bolton is ensuring students are ready for learning by serving free breakfasts for all learners.

For those arriving between 8am and 8.25am, students can enjoy a free breakfast item as well as a drink, with the menu changing daily.  Funded by the College, the popular menu includes toast, cereal bars, pastries, fruit and hash browns, with pastries being the most popular breakfast choice so far.

The initiative was brought in thanks to the College’s response to the cost of living crisis, as well as the desire to fuel young people for their busy day of learning ahead.

Reflecting on the cost of living crisis, Head of MIS & Learner Administration, Andrew Lythgoe said:

“Times are tough for many of our families, and the College is always looking at ways that we can support our young people further. The free breakfasts are especially important during this coming busy exam period, we want to give our students the very best opportunities to succeed”.

A Level student Alex Stones said:

“I have found the free breakfasts really beneficial.  Being able to arrive to college early, sit with friends and enjoy free food and drink before our first lesson makes such a difference.  We all feel more prepared for our lessons as a result”.

The free breakfast initiative will continue until the end of the academic year.  Discover more about the financial support available at The Sixth Form Bolton here.
