Media students enjoy work experience at the BBC

In April, our A Level Media Studies students were invited for a work experience opportunity at the BBC. The students were working on projects with their research and development team which explored the range of technology-related roles at the BBC and in Broadcast and creative media careers. The students had to pitch their original ideas which had to consider current technology like artificial intelligence and virtual world environments and develop platforms of the future to access services. They also met with the technologists at the BBC Blueroom for a behind-the-scenes look at current innovations that the BBC are exploring.

Everyone from B6 and the BBC was really impressed with the students with Marvin McKenzie, Volunteer Manager at the BBC saying:

It is always a pleasure having students from The Sixth Form Bolton join us, and the group this time typified what I have come to expect from B6 students. They were brilliant, so polite, confident and so enthusiastic, especially within areas that were relatively new to them.
