B6 Student Prepares to Perform at BACKUP North West’s Stars for a Night Grand Final



Second-year B6 student, Wareh Sallah, is preparing to perform at BACKUP North West’s Stars for a Night charity event after securing her place in the Live Final on Friday 29 September at the Holiday Inn, Bolton.


Wareh, a former Bolton St Catherine's Academy student, studies A Level Graphics, Physics and Core Maths with the Extended Project Qualification at The Sixth Form Bolton. Alongside her studies, Wareh enjoys taking part in Performing Arts enrichment as a member of the B6 band and a regularly sings at the Open Mic Pod Performances. At the most recent open mic session, Wareh performed a beautiful version of “Friends” by Anne-Marie

To enter the competition, Wareh had to submit a video peformance and then attend a face-to-face audition. She was delighted to have been selected for the finale.

“After hearing about BACKUP’s competition from Sam Lawther, I decided to apply as it seemed fun and like a great way to raise money for charity. Taking part in the regular Pod Performances at B6 has helped me to before more confident in my performances ready for the Live Final.” Wareh Sallah

BACKUP North West is a charity that provides support and accommodation to young, homeless and vulnerable people in the Bolton area aged 16-25. They deliver a range of services that include accommodation, support, advice and guidance. The Sixth Form Bolton are keen supporters of the charity with their CEO, Maura Jackson, delivering a talk at one of our Women into Leadership sessions.

The Stars for a Night competition will feature a wide variety of acts, including students and members of performing arts clubs and colleges. The talent show is facilitated by BACKUP North West and supported by the Bolton News and Bolton FM, as media partners. The acts will be competing to win £250 plus a PR Consultation and the chance to perform at The BACKUP Annual Charity Ball at The Toughsheet Community Stadium on Saturday 16 March 2024.
